General Motors ( GM ) and Nvidia have expanded their cooperation in order to develop autonomous vehicle technology and improve factory workflow.
The collaboration will concentrate on creating specialized AI techniques using Nvidia’s accelerated assess platforms, including Nvidia Omniverse and Nvidia Cosmos, to improve stock preparing and robotics at GM by training AI production models using Nvidia’s accelerated determine platforms.
GM may use Nvidia’s GPU platforms, which have been very helpful in training GM’s AI models for modeling and verification, to transform the design and operation of its electrical plants.
Mary Barra, the head and CEO of General Motors, stated:” GM has enjoyed a longtime partnership with NVIDIA, leveraging its Graphics across our operations.
AI “nurses our workforce on the art of craftsmanship while not only optimising manufacturing processes and accelerating digital testing,” it also assists us in building better vehicles. By combining technology and human ingenuity, we unlock new horizons of creativity in the production of vehicles and above.
To reduce interruption, Nvidia Omniverse will be used to build digital twins of council lines.
With the intention of enhancing production safety and efficiency, this approach may increase the coaching of robotics platforms used in operations like material handling, transportation, and precision welding.
Additionally, GM’s upcoming generation cars will be built using the safety-certified Nvidia DriveOS operating system, Nvidia DRIVE AGX, which is based on the Nvidia Blackwell structures.
The in-car computer, which can process up to 1, 000 trillion operations per second, will speed up the creation and deployment of scale-scale safe autonomous vehicles ( AVs ).
The period of actual AI is these, according to Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang, and GM and GM are working together to transform transportation, from automobiles to the factories where they are made.
In a related growth, earlier this year, Nvidia and Uber Technologies partnered.
Using Nvidia’s Cosmos and DGX Cloud systems, this partnership aims to accelerate the development of autonomous cars using cutting-edge AI systems.
