In response to the rising threats posed by advanced attacks in the Asia-Pacific area, Check Point Software Technologies has announced fresh AI-powered protection enhancements.
The business highlighted that companies in the region have been experiencing large volumes of assaults, driven by ransom, hacktivism, and AI-driven cybercrime. Based on Check Point’s Hazard Intelligence information, institutions in APAC faced an average of 2, 915 episodes per week in recent weeks, as opposed to a world average of 1, 843 attacks per month.
Significant changes observed in the area include a rise in phishing scams, with 52 % of harmful files being delivered via web-based attacks in the last month. APAC has also seen a significant increase in Ransomware situations, with the region containing 6.3 % of all cyberattacks, up from a global rate of 4 %.
The education and research businesses in APAC are mainly targeted, experiencing 7, 372 regular attacks per company, substantially higher than the global level of 4, 127. Also, the medical industry sees 5, 225 regular episodes per company in the region, compared to 2, 441 globally, while the government and military industries face 4, 834 regular attacks, compared to a world average of 2, 593.
