According to a New Absolute Security Survey released ahead of RSAC 2025, 83 Percentage of CISOs State Cyber Resilience is Now More Important Than Traditional Cybersecurity in response to DeepSeek Heightening Concerns.
SEATTLE, April 17, 2025 ( )– Chief Information Security Officers ( CISOs ) overwhelmingly support the current Administration’s Executive Order ( EO ) to eliminate rules that stymie AI innovation. Despite this, the majority of CISOs caution that restructuring may make it more difficult to secure their organizations, leading them to place resilience as a top priority in their protection strategy. These most important findings were made available in a Censuswide study of 500 U.S.-based CISOs, conducted by , a president in enterprise resilience.
Further research revealed CISOs ‘ opinions and concerns about the evolving regulatory environment, the rise of workplace AI, and DeepSeek, a Chinese-based conceptual AI platform.
Deregulation promotes enthusiasm and shifts focus to resilience.
A total of 79 percent of respondents to the EO recommended that AI policies that inhibit innovation be reviewed and removed, with 70 percent anticipating more deregulation in the near future. Although 61 percent of respondents said this change in the way of management makes it more difficult to protect their organizations from threats and cyberrisk, the approach is viewed as a good step in the direction of AI.
Safety leaders have had to reevaluate their priorities as a result of the rapid transition to reduce authorities tech oversight and the US’s rapid adoption of AI. Overall, 83 percent of respondents now believe that having a computer resilience strategy in place is more important for their business than standard cybersecurity measures.
AI Raise Stakes, DeepSeek,
DeepSeek is troubling, according to CISOs. 69 percent of respondents claim that using it will increase the number of attacks, with 65 percent saying they have banned it in their businesses.
Safety leaders are also allowing AI, with 89 percent of respondents reporting that there is a high rate of adoption across their organizations. However, 44 % of people are unaware of how frequently generative AI tools are used or what types of data are being uploaded, with 71 % believing that Shadow AI will eventually result in a data breach.
CISOs do need government to play a major role when it comes to DeepSeek, despite optimism about fewer regulations and increased Artificial growth. 77 % of those polled believed that the government is responsible for regulating this relational AI system in the same way that it did with TikTok.
