Fortunet improves AI to combat emerging digital dangers

FortiAI capabilities have been significantly expanded by Forttinet, including the inclusion of new artificial intelligence ( AI ) features across its Security Fabric platform to improve security against emerging cyber threats and streamline operations.

According to Michael Xie, leader, leader, and chief technology officer at Fortinet,” Fortinet’s AI benefit comes from the breadth and depth of our AI ecosystem, which has been shaped by over a decade of AI technology and has been supported by more patents than any other security vendor.”

We’re enabling our clients to reduce the workload on their stability and network experts while increasing the efficiency, speed, and reliability of their security and marketing functions, he said, by integrating FortiAI with the Fortinet Security Fabric system, including new agentic AI capabilities.

” In parallel, we’ve expanded coverage across the Fabric ecosystem to give customers the ability to track and regulate how generative AI ( GenAI)-enabled services are used in their organizations,” Xie continued.

According to Fortinet, organizations must build AI-driven surveillance tools worthy of both protecting their own AI systems from sacrifice and the growing use of AI in cyberattacks, such as those designed to pass defences, automated attack vectors, and utilize system vulnerabilities. Over 500 AI trademarks, both issued and pending, support Fortunet’s development of its AI systems over the course of 15 years.

Fortinet now has access to FortiAI’s entire AI-driven surveillance and network operations strategy. It is integrated into the Fortinet Security Fabric system and provides automatic and brilliant capabilities for threat detection, functional efficiency, and AI model protection.

FortiAI-Assist and FortiAI-Protect are the two main improvements that make up this development.

FortiAI-Assist combines agentic AI, artificial intelligence, and GenAI for IT operations ( AIOps ) to make automation and data analytics easier.

Agentic AI applications for community operations, where a GenAI associate freely manages community settings updates, validates and corrects existing configurations, and resolves issues without human intervention, are among the new capabilities. The system can also proactively look for and fix network issues in wireless, wired, and SD-WAN environments.

Agentic AI is used in security operations to prioritize notifications based on context and historical risk data. It defuses duplicates and raises high-confidence threats. Additionally, threat intelligence enrichment adds additional context to aid in the prevention of adversary tactics, and the system supports root-cause tracing of incidents using AI-driven reasoning.

FortiAI-Protect, in contrast, concentrates on advanced threat analysis and contextual risk assessment. It improves security intelligence services by recording usage of over 6,500 URLs related to AI and providing information like training models, use cases, and data geolocation.

Administrators have visibility and control over how AI is used in their organizations because the system uses zero-trust principles to block unauthorised or high-risk applications. Forttinet also praised improvements to its intrusion prevention system ( IPS) to identify new attack methods as well as improvements in advanced machine learning and data analysis.

FortiAI-SecureAI, which defends AI infrastructure and cloud-native workloads across providers, guards models and intellectual property, and enforces access controls, can help organizations further secure their AI systems.

Data privacy is also a top priority. FortiAI said FortiAI uses strict privacy measures to stop the underlying language models from being trained by the GenAI assistant that receives data from it. Every query is handled locally, ensuring that sensitive information does not leave the organization’s network.

Fortinet aims to assist businesses in securely adopting AI while keeping up with the growing complexity of cyber threats with the combined launch of FortiAI-Assist, FortiAI-Protect, and FortiAI-SecureAI.
