At a state conference on April 1st, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov gave instructions for the timely development of digital public services in Kazakhstan, focusing on strategic service delivery, enhanced collaboration with the banking sector, and increased data security measures.

Since 2020, significant efforts have been made to improve and digitalize public services, which has helped place Kazakhstan among the top 10 nations on the global scale in terms of online service delivery, he said.
Bektenov stated that Kazakhstan is now moving into a new stage of providing public services, focusing on a strategic, flawless system that anticipates the needs of its citizens. He cited the examples of the automatic birth certificate issuance and benefit distribution via SMS as examples of the issuance of an IIN ( Individual Identification Number ) at birth.
He noted the expanding relationship with the banking industry, which made it possible to get more services online using finance applications. Bektenov instructed to strengthen server infrastructure and stressed the need for high-speed digital access throughout the country to guarantee complete online service availability.
Bektenov emphasized the importance of improving online security and protecting individual data to stop online fraud in addition to these measures. By the end of the year, he directed government organizations to assimilate information systems into the personal data access control service and impose stiffer penalties for violations.
Bektenov emphasized the need to update the e-gov gate with AI features by the end of the year, carry out tasks to secure funding for public services in remote post offices, and switch the most popular services from people service centers to an electronic file by the end of the year.
