President William Lai ( ) stated today that Taiwan is at the forefront of global security risks and the first area chain’s essential.

The government has proposed three strategies to increase the country’s resilience in the information sphere as the incursions become more extreme, Lai said.

No one or organization can defend themselves against these problems, Lai said, noting that last season saw an average of 2.4 million daily attacks, more than double the same amount the year before.

In recent months, Taiwan has seen numerous problems involving the” Crazy Hunter” ransom, hitting hospitals, schools, and public companies, which indicates that Taiwan is increasingly being targeted by Chinese hackers, Lai said.

Lai established the Whole-of-Society Defense Resilience Committee at the Presidential Office next year, and he invited experts from civic society to attend, he said.

The goal is to keep bolstering vital infrastructure, such as travel, financial services, and telecommunications networks, and make the country a hub for security, Lai said.

According to his statement, the president’s recently released security approach lists three objectives for the year 2028: strengthening society-wide security, supporting the security industry, and developing emerging technologies in the defense sector.

According to Lai, the Ministry of Digital Affairs is currently updating the Cyber Security Management Act ( ) to use a two-pronged approach to enhance security protection for all sectors.

More than 400 security companies come together at the Cybersec Expo to present their most recent innovations and answers.

About 300 deals are included in the three-day event, which include speakers like US Naval War College associate professor Jason Vogt and Czech Chamber of Deputies deputy speaker Jan Bartoek.
