NNH and Palo Alto Networks enter a legally binding business partnership.

In a multi-year agreement, the top-tier NHL of North America has expanded its connection with Palo Alto Networks as a business partner.

Through a multi-pronged agreement signed today, Palo Alto was granted a range of promotional advertising rights, with the league’s fans receiving communication from the brand through “marketing, electric, and social media channels” for the duration of the agreement.

Nevertheless, Palo Alto has been a service partner for the 32-team NHL since 2009 and has been providing them with security technology and solutions.

The NHL has stated that this new partnership will lead to an increase in the number of security threats blocked each month, as well as increased security for Internet of Things devices, and “elevated fan engagement from a guaranteed customer experience.”

With Palo Alto Networks sky, system, and surveillance activities options, Dave Munroe, the NHL’s senior vice president of information technology and security, has stated:” We continue to stay ahead of the game. With options like the NHL’s Prisma Access Browser and AI Access Security, the NHL has now standardized on Palo Alto Networks for network security procedures.

In terms of the league’s business, it extended its multi-year deal with Chinese automaker Honda until mid-February.

Honda is still present at NHL star activities under the new agreement, including the title sponsor of the NHL All-Star Weekend on Long Island and its partnership with the team’s Winter Classic, Four Countries Face-Off, and Stadium Series.

The 2024-2005 NHL standard year began on October 4 and ends on April 17 with the post-season finals and Stanley Cup Finals that will follow.

In terms of security business partnerships with the other big North American sports leagues, the NFL announced last October that it would start using Cisco’s business network and security solutions for the NFL International Games.

Since September 2021, Cisco has been the NFL’s authorized security spouse and enterprise networking companion.
