To stop the rise of AI-driven crime, brains robbery, and national security threats, we must address the security challenges inherent in Gen AI. Now is the right time to take action.

How GenAI is changing cybersecurity

Gen AI’s ability to launch highly powerful, automated cyberattacks is the most pressing issue. Contrary to what was once used by cybercriminals to use basic social engineering strategies that exploited individual error, AI models allow attackers to create virtually undetectable phishing emails, generate malware on demand, and even bypass conventional security protocols.

A perfect example of this is the development of phishing attacks. Prior to now, customers may look for grammar mistakes or inconsistent emails to spot phishing attempts. Then, AI-generated phishing emails are completely organized, personalized, and contextually relevant, making them nearly impossible to tell apart from legitimate communications.

Additionally, AI designs can create harmful script in a matter of seconds. While trustworthy AI developers, like OpenAI, attempt to stop the creation of malicious code, some more recent open-source AI models give cybercriminals the freedom to develop custom attacks for each goal.

The open-source paradox: achieving a balance between protection and technology

  • Identity and access management solutions:  We need tools like Photolok, a password-free password that uses handwritten photos with randomization to protect against AI bad actors.

The GenAI era’s coming of security

Gen AI’s surge is both a technological advance and a security crisis. AI has untapped potential for development, but if left uncontrolled, its potential for harm is equally important.

Security must be the driving force behind AI creation, not an afterthought. Every key AI company, from OpenAI to DeepSeek, may assume the responsibility for making sure that their designs don’t turn into fraudsters ‘ tools. Politicians may take action quickly to close the governmental spaces before the situation becomes too untamed.
