To fight cyber-threats, Thailand and Google Cloud Work Together.

The National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA ) and Google Cloud have announced a strategic partnership to strengthen cyber resilience in an effort to boost Thailand’s security system. The program, which was launched during Safer Songkran, coincides with continuing efforts to shield citizens and government entities from rising computer threats. This agreement builds on the Thai administration’s existing partnership with Google to improve online security.

NCSA and will collaborate on discussing and create event response capabilities as part of this relationship. This collaboration is especially important because Thailand’s online transformation is advancing, making strict measures a requirement.

One notable accomplishment was the anti-scam feature on Google Play Protect, which was introduced in partnership with the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society ( MDES ) in 2024, which successfully blocked over 6.6 million high-risk app installations. New safeguards have been added to further enhance smart security in order to stop that goal Thai users.

Government of Thailand’s devotion to cyber resilience

Prasert Jantararuangtong, Thailand’s deputy prime minister and secretary of modern economy and society, stressed the need for increased security to prevent online schemes. He expressed his gratitude to Google for its support of this reason, saying:

” The government has top priority and priority over strengthening security and battling online scams, especially as businesses and individuals increasingly embrace modern development. We applaud Google for working with us to improve online security through its digital literacy initiatives and the addition of enhanced anti-scam features to Google Play Protect for Android devices.

Amorn Chomchoey, NCSA’s secretary general, stressed the value of bringing together experienced talent and cutting-edge technology. He emphasized how Mandiant’s and Google Cloud Cybershield expertise may be crucial tools for strengthening Thailand’s digital defenses.

A Coordinated National Cyber Defense Plan

NCSA will install Google Cloud Cybershield, an AI-enabled protection platform that combines threat intelligence, analytics, and automation. This program will enable centralized surveillance of challenges across public sector organizations.

A more organized and coordinated response to virtual threats that target federal agencies and critical infrastructure will be created through ThaiCERT, Thailand’s regional cyber defense center.

The collaboration’s vital aspects include:

NCSA may have access to Google Threat Intelligence, Mandiant’s risk insights, and VirusTotal’s databases through Google Cloud. This will aid in the government’s ability to recognize and combat state-sponsored problems and fraudster strategies.

  • Data security professionals will be taught in event response, digital forensics, and malicious study by Mandiant consultants. These efforts will increase Thailand’s share of public sector cybersecurity experts.

Protecting Thai people from Cyber-Terrorism

Beyond national security, the partnership also aims to improve specific customer security. To protect against online scams and attempt, NCSA and Google Cloud may combine Google Cloud Web Risk into state security policies.

Web APIs will provide accurate information about malignant websites, enabling NCSA to prevent unauthorized access to unsafe URLs. This feature is comparable to Google Safe Browsing’s, which searches for more than 10 billion Websites every day and safeguards more than 5 billion devices abroad.

Annop Siritikul, the country director for Thailand for Google Cloud, spoke about ‘s monetary significance:

Thailand’s modern market is projected to grow from US$ 46 billion in 2024 to at least US$ 100 billion by 2030. We at Google Cloud think we can make a significant contribution to the computer protection that will be necessary to safeguard this growth in the future.

Improved wireless security to protect against ripoffs

was one of the first nations to adopt the anti-scam feature on Google Play Protect in 2024. Since then, the element has prevented more than 6.6 million high-risk software installs on more than 1.4 million Android devices in the nation.

Google introduced more security measures in 2025 to combat fraudsters who engage in schemes over phone calls. The toggle switch to turn off Play Protect’s game scanning feature is then locked during telephone calls, preventing cybercriminals from deceiving users into turning off security protections.

Thailand’s online future

The Safer Songkran program, which was launched as part of the Safer with Google initiative, continues to provide important cybersecurity knowledge and tools to Thai citizens. The partnership between NCSA and Google Cloud is a major step in the direction of creating a more stable electric habitat for Thailand, ensuring that both individuals and businesses can benefit from the conversion of the digital economy without risk.

Thailand is strengthening its position as a leader in security in the Asia-Pacific place by adopting AI-driven safety technologies, advanced risk intelligence, and public-private cooperation.
